X and FP synchronisation with two standard contacts on the camera front. Introduction of the semi-automatic aperture setting and fully automatic diaphragm control


1957-1958

In addition to X synchronisation this version also had the international standard F synchronisation for flash bulbs; two standard flash contacts on the front of the camera

From a 1959 catalogue:

Single lens reflex camera with built-in reflex focusing finder with magnifier and eye-level framefinder; focal-plane shutter, 1/2 to 1/500 sec., fully XF flash synchronised; interchangeable lens mount; lenses fitted with pre-set iris, finished in black leather and satiin chrome.

Prices: With Meritar f/2.9 50 mm. semi-automatic pre-set iris £38 12s. 6d. With f/2.8 50 mm. T Jena anastigmat £62 10s. 4d. Leather ever-ready case £3 17s. 4d. Eye-level pentaprism which fits on top of the reflex finder £8 11s.
