Our online catalogue and web site is working pretty well now. I have established a monthly update for most of the catalogue, and this also is working well. I regret that I have still not been able to master photographs for the catalogue - the operation just requires more time than I have available. Most of the faulty links have been eliminated.

Kershaw Curlew and Peregrine Cameras. These cameras are claimed to be very rare (some people say that less than 200 were made) but this is not the case. Some models are very rare - those versions fitted with Taylor Hobson lenses in particular. It is clear from information published on the Internet that more Curlews were made than Peregrines. The manufacturer was a large scale supplier to the cinema industry. Like many other British companies, spare capacity existed after war production ceased. High quality camera production provided a possible answer. Then along came Cinemascope and J. Arthur Rank. Odeon and Gaumont cinemas in Britain had to be re-eqiipped to show the wide screen films. Kershaws could do the job, and camera production was stopped. When we first set up in business in Leeds Market we saw a number of individuals who had worked at the Kershaw factory in Leeds, and we picked up information from them. The Curlew and Peregrine are very fine cameras, at least the equal of any German product. For more information on them please go to "marriottworld.com/pieces/pieces13.htm".
